Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Imran Khan, leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), denied on Tuesday that he had discussed extending the contract of the current Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
While addressing reporters in Islamabad, Imran Khan emphasized that he had never proposed extending the tenure of the army leader but rather postponing the nomination of a new army leader till after the next elections.
Imran Khan also said that the incoming government should choose the army leader.
Imran Khan has stated, “I never indicated who should be the army head. I always advocated for an army leader’s appointment to be done on merit.

After the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) expressed “horror” over Khan’s “anti-military comments” made at a political rally for his party in Faisalabad, PTI chairman Imran Khan responded by saying that he had not said anything to provoke such a response.
Imran Khan took a jab at PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif by saying he will be eager to welcome him to Pakistan upon his return.
Imran Khan made the remark, “Two families shouldn’t choose an army chief’s name.”
