Government launches mobile app to assess flood damage

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): The government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has established a mobile application to inspect flood-damaged homes in the impacted areas, with the goal of providing transparent relief compensation to those who were impacted by the disaster.

On Tuesday, a summit was conducted here under the leadership of Chief Secretary Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash.

Attendees included the additional chief secretary, administrative secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners, representatives from the Pak Army and the NDMA, and other concerned officials.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board has developed a smartphone app to conduct a census of affected homes, and its members have been receiving intensive training ahead of the meeting.

It was also disclosed that beginning on September 15th, a survey will be conducted of homes that were damaged by the flood. Payments will be made through the Bank of Khyber following the conclusion of the survey (BoK).

Preliminary damage assessment data from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) indicates that 91,456 homes were affected by the flooding.
