Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Ned Price says that the terrorism case against PTI Chairman Imran Khan is “a matter for the Pakistani legal and judicial system” when asked to comment on the case.

During a press briefing at the State Department, a reporter asked the spokesperson, Ned Price, what he thought about the charges that were brought against former prime minister Imran Khan under an anti-terrorism law because of a speech he gave in which he talked about two senior police officials and a female judge. Price said that they had heard about the charges.

“This is a matter for the Pakistani legal and judicial system,” he said, adding that the United States is not directly involved because they do not support one political candidate or party over another.

The US spokesperson said that they support the peaceful upholding of democratic, constitutional, and legal principles in Pakistan and around the world.

The head of the PTI is being charged with terrorism because of some controversial things he said at a rally in Islamabad to show support for Shahbaz Gill, who was arrested after a sedition case was filed against him.

The PTI has said that Gill was tortured while in police custody, but the Islamabad Police have denied these claims.

Because of what the PTI leader said about the judge, the Islamabad High Court has also sent him a notice of contempt of court.
