Web Desk (LTN NEWS): As the Indian cricket board refused to come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is thinking about leaving the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) or skipping the ODI World Cup 2023.
Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and the president of the Asian Cricket Council, told reporters after the BCCI annual meeting that the Indian team would not be going to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023.
Jay Shah, the son of India’s Home Minister Amit Shah, said, “India can’t go there, and Pakistan can’t come here, so the Asia Cup should be held somewhere neutral.”
This year, the Asia Cup was moved to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) because of the political situation in Sri Lanka.

On the other hand, Pakistan did a good job hosting Australia and England this year. However, Pakistan has not hosted a tournament since international cricket was brought back to the country.
A spokesperson for the PCB told a private news channel, “We are disappointed and surprised by what BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said.”
Sources close to PCB’s top leaders, like chairman Ramiz Raja, said, “If the Asia Cup is moved to a neutral venue, the country’s cricket governing body will respond in the same way. As a result, it’s possible that the national team won’t play in the ODI World Cup next year, which will be held in India.”
He also said, “Pakistan understands India’s position on playing bilateral series, but India’s refusal to play in tournaments with teams from different countries is a broken promise, and if India doesn’t come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, the PCB will seriously think about dropping out of the 2023 World Cup.”
Pakistan and India’s teams don’t play in each other’s countries because of political tensions, but they have been playing each other in international and Asian tournaments.
Last month, the two teams played against each other in the Asia Cup. This month, they will also play against each other in the T20 World Cup.
