Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided on Tuesday that a judicial commission will be set up to investigate the death of senior journalist and news anchor Arshad Sharif.
In a letter to the government, the Pakistan Army asked for a commission to be set up to look into the death of the senior journalist at the hands of Kenyan police.
According to Pakistan’s constitution, the letter also asked that those making accusations be taken to court.
Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the PM had decided that a high court judge would lead the judicial commission and that media and civil society members could help.
The information minister said the PM decided to find out what happened when the journalist died. Below is a video message in which the PM talks about Sharif and stresses the need for a transparent investigation into his death.
