WhatsApp is down for thousands of people all over the world

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, says that WhatsApp was down for users worldwide on Tuesday.

The website reported that the app stopped working just before noon. #WhatsApp was the top trend on Twitter in Pakistan, with more than 40,000 people talking about the problem.

Users said they could not send messages, and the app said it was “connecting.”

Downdetector said that more than 11,000 users in India had reported an outage. As of about 7:50 GMT, 68,000 users in the UK and 19,000 users in Singapore had done the same.

Downdetector keeps track of outages by putting together status reports from various sources, such as errors that users report on its platform. There may have been more people who were affected by the problem.

A spokesperson for Meta said, “We know that some people are having trouble sending messages right now, and we’re working to get WhatsApp back up and running for everyone as soon as possible.”
