Web Desk (LTN NEWS): On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the relevant authorities for a detailed report about the complaints about high electricity bills. The PM media wing said in a statement that the prime minister led an emergency meeting on Monday to talk about complaints about high prices on both personal and business bills.
At the meeting were the Minister for Power, Khurram Dastgir Khan, and the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Ahad Cheema, as well as other top officials. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the people in charge to give him a detailed report with suggestions about how to fix complaints about high electricity bills.
In this case, it could be said that high electricity bills, especially those sent to people’s homes, have made them cry. Domestic consumers are worried about their high electricity bills, which include higher tariffs, changes in fuel prices, and taxes.
“My family only uses one ceiling fan, but I got a bill for more than Rs5,000 and can’t pay it,” said Muhammad Anas, who lives in Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. In the same way, another customer said he got a bill for Rs14,000 even though he didn’t use any air conditioners.
The prime minister said that Pakistan had a lot of great places to invest in information technology, energy, agriculture, industries, and e-commerce because of how business-friendly the current government is.
Ulla-Maija Rantapuska told the prime minister that Finnfund was interested in investing in Pakistan in areas like renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, financial institutions, and solutions for digital infrastructure.
She also said that Finnfund had already put $3 million into TPL Insurance Limited, Pakistan’s first direct insurance company, giving it a 17.59 percent stake. The prime minister liked what Finnfund had to say and promised that the government would help Finnfund with these plans.
