Web Desk (LTN NEWS): The district government of Hyderabad has put out a rain alert because the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts that the city will get about 200 millimeters of rain.
On August 18 and 19, the traders have been told to shut down their businesses by 3 p.m.
On Wednesday evening, another round of heavy rain began to hit the city. The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company said that 35 feeders were turned off for safety reasons, but the number of complaints about power outages suggested that the problem was much bigger.
Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has asked people not to leave their homes unless they have to.
He has also asked the shop owners to put sandbags in front of their stores to protect them from damage caused by the flooding.
The DC has also told the staff of the Water and Sanitation Agency and other relevant departments to stay on high alert in the field.
He told them to make sure the drainage pumping stations worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says that a low-pressure monsoon area is over eastern Sindh and the nearby Indian state of Rajasthan.
