Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Shahnawaz Amir is the main suspect in the murder of Sarah Inam. On Monday, Shahnawaz Amir’s mother asked an Islamabad court for pre-arrest bail in the case.
Shahnawaz has already been arrested on charges that he killed his Canadian wife. The suspect and his mother, Sameena Shah, lived in a farmhouse in Shahzad Town. This is where the crime happened.
Ayaz Amir, his father, has also been arrested on suspicion of being involved. Shahnawaz and Ayaz were both given to the police on physical remand, which ends today.
Sameena has also been given a warrant for her arrest, but she has not been taken in yet.
In the petition she filed with an Islamabad sessions court today, Sameena explained her side of the story. She said that Shahnawaz had sent her a message on WhatsApp “before the heinous crime” to arrange the rukhsati of the deceased by talking to the deceased’s father.

“Everything was normal the night before the crime,” she wrote in a petition.
Sameena said she went to sleep after getting the message, and Shahnawaz called her at 9:12 a.m. the next day to tell her what had happened.
The petition said that Sameena then ran to Shahnawaz’s room, but by the time she got there, Sarah had already died.
“The petitioner asked Shahnawaz to sit in her room, and Ayaz called the police. Within a few minutes, the police were there and took Shahnawaz into custody,” said the plea.
Sameena said that the FIR was “false and pointless” and that she had nothing to do with the murder or the case. “But her name is being talked about in the news, and a petition for her arrest has been filed,” the petition said.
In her plea, Sameena said again that she had nothing to do with the murder and wasn’t even there to see what happened. She also said that her good name was being used to hurt her reputation, which showed that there was bad intent and ulterior motives.
The plea also said that Sameena was an old woman with health problems and that she was willing to provide sureties for bail and “cooperate with any investigation that law enforcement agencies may conduct.”
The state has been named as the respondent in the appeal, which the court will look at today.
Formal Incident Report: FIR
The Shahzad Town Station House Officer Nawazish Ali Khan filed the FIR, which means that the police are now part of the case.
According to the complaint, Sameena called the police on September 23 and told them that Shahnawaz had killed his wife “with a dumbbell.”
Sameena was quoted in the FIR as saying, “My son is in the house and has hidden the body.” The police then searched the house.
“He shot himself in his room and locked the door. When they broke in, Shahnawaz’s hands and clothes had blood on them,” the police said in the complaint.
“He then admitted that during an argument, he had hit his wife over and over with a dumbbell and then hid her body in the bathroom’s bathtub.”
Shahnawaz also said in the FIR that he “hid” the murder weapon under his bed.
When the police looked at the dumbbell, they saw blood and hair on it. The FIR also said, “We sent it to forensics.”
The complaint also said that the body of the victim had been taken to the Polyclinic Hospital for an autopsy.
