Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Ayaz Amir, a veteran journalist, and member of the PTI were arrested on Saturday in connection with the death of his daughter-in-law, Sara Inam.
On Friday, September 23, Shahnawaz Amir, who is Amir’s son, is said to have killed Sara in the Chak Shehzad neighborhood of Islamabad. He will be held by the police for two more days.
Police sources said that Colonel (ret) Ikram and Zia-ur-Raheem, Sara Inam’s uncles, nominated Ayaz and his ex-wife in the murder case of their niece.
Amir was taken to the Shahzad Town police station. After the murder, Sara’s uncles asked that Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code be added to the police report, which was done. The police had already added Section 302 to the report, which is about how to punish murder.
Police sources said that Shahnawaz and Sara were not getting along. They said that the suspect hadn’t told his wife about his two previous marriages and that he had asked her for money many times under false pretenses.
Sources say that the suspect put his own name on the registration of a car that Sara had bought for herself.
Police sources said that they got into an argument after Sara found out what her husband had done.
The sources also said that Shahnawaz “killed” Sara when she asked for her money and her car back.
Sources say that Shahnawaz was a drug addict who would sometimes ask Sara for money.
They said Sara hadn’t told her parents in Canada that she was getting married to Shahnawaz.
The woman who was killed was also from Canada, and she had a very important job in the economics ministry of the United Arab Emirates.
Sara and Shahnawaz met each other through social media. Police say that the victim came to Pakistan three months ago, and Shahnawaz’s friends got them married in Chakwal.
The police say that their marriage is not on record in Pakistan.
Since the man’s father is a well-known journalist, the woman agreed to marry him.
