Web Desk (LTN NEWS): After heavy flooding in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is working to save lives and help people in several flooded areas.
In a report, the provincial disaster management group said that at least 193 people have died because of the rain and floods that followed. Another 251 people have been hurt in different accidents.
The report also said that 16 schools in different parts of K-P were damaged.
PDMA said that at least 8,987 homes in the province were damaged and that 10,761 homes were totally destroyed. There are now 1,9748 homes in the province that have been destroyed or badly damaged.
Accidents have also killed at least 959 heads of cattle
The K-P government issued an “emergency evacuation order” for two districts after the Munda Headworks Bridge in Charsadda, which controlled the flow of the Swat River, collapsed Friday night because of devastating rain-caused floods in the province.
A warning from a provincial government official at night said, “It’s now certain that the districts of Charsadda and Nowshera, as well as the areas around them, will be flooded in a few hours.”
