Islamabad (LTN NEWS): Saleem Mandviwalla is the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He wants the government to do a forensic audit of the evidence presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the foreign funding case to make sure that the trial is fair.
“I will write a letter to the government and the Prime Minister to have a forensic audit of it,” Mandviwalla said at a press conference here on Tuesday. “I think the money involved in the foreign funding case is a lot more than what was said during the trial.”
Mandviwalla thought that the PTI’s foreign funding case was so big that it should be looked into by a cabinet committee or commission. “I think the investigation will show what really happened in this case, because a lot of money was laundered under the names of PTI and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital,” he said.
Mandviwalla said that this was the biggest case of a political party (PTI) laundering money. “I’ve never seen a political party involved in a case like this before. “Such a case should never be forgiven, and a good example should be set,” he said. Faisal Karim Kundi and other PPP leaders were with him.
He said that Akbar S. Babar, one of the founders of PTI, filed the foreign funding case in 2014, and that PTI then filed cases against other parties to find out how they were funded.
“The money laundering case that Akbar S. Babar started with three million dollars and ended with 5.1 million dollars”
“We should change electoral reforms so that every case is decided by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) within six to twelve months. I will tell the electoral reforms committee that the decision should be made within six months or a year,” he said. He also said that a cabinet committee or commission should be made to ask ECP to look into the case further.
Mandviwalla said that there was no country left from which PTI did not get money from abroad. “Imran was in charge of such a big party, but he still couldn’t figure out how to handle his money according to ECP rules. He said, “This is a disaster for PTI, and it should be held responsible.”
Palwasha Shah Khan, who was speaking for the party, sent his deepest condolences and sorrow over the deaths of military officers and soldiers in Balochistan, who died in a helicopter crash.
She said, “Our condolences and sympathies go out to the families of the military officers and soldiers who died in the terrible accident.”
She said that the country had now seen the real face of truthful and honest people because of the ECP’s decision on the PTI’s foreign funding case (Sadiq and Ameen).
“Imran used religion to poison people’s minds so much that not even Zia ul Haq did it in the name of religion. “Imran said that other political parties were plotting against his government from abroad, but now his party is getting so much money from abroad,” she said.
She said that in the name of Riyasat Madina, PTI led the people of Pakistan astray. “PTI got money from outside the country and used the name of Riyasat Madina for its own benefit.”
She said that the growth of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) stopped when Imran was in charge. “PPP gave the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government a plot against CPEC,” she said, adding that Imran’s sit-ins in 2014 had caused the Chinese president’s visit to be canceled.
“We want the Prime Minister to set up a commission to look into the PTI’s case of getting money from outside the country. She said, “Imran has hurt Pakistan’s economy and started a fight between institutions.”
