There will be a big crackdown on social media before the “crucial decision”: Rashid

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and a former interior minister, said that picking and rejecting politicians will lead to a major crisis because “the people of the country are standing by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.”

He said these things at a PTI power show in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh ground on Sunday.

Rashid was probably talking about what the PTI leader had said about a plot to get rid of him and the cases in Toshakhana and prohibited funding so that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif could come back from London.

Imran had said that the recent flood of legal actions against him was part of a plot to get him to make a deal with the government to get Nawaz’s lifetime ban lifted so that both of them could run for office again.

Rashid made fun of the current leaders by saying that “thieves and robbers” are working to close their corruption cases now that they are in power.

He also said that the country’s security agencies always stood by the country and that “the country is with Imran Khan.” “Imran Khan is the real prime minister of the country, not these thieves,” the head of the AML said.

Rashid called Nawaz, the former prime minister, the “biggest thief in the world.” He also said that the country’s economy grew by 6% when Imran was in charge.

“I’m telling all organizations to stop if they can see that Imran Khan is coming,” he said.

Rashid had already warned of a crackdown on social media in a tweet from his official account. He was referring to a notice from the Pakistan Electronic Media Authority (Pemra) that banned live broadcasts of speeches by former PM Imran.

“Before the important decision, the authority against social media will be put in place. “There will also be a lot of people around YouTubers,” he said.

The former interior minister said that the PML-N and PML-S, the two groups that make up the ruling party, will meet.

“S group stopped former finance minister Ishaq Dar,” he said, referring to the PML-N leader’s possible return to Pakistan from London.
