Web Desk (LTN NEWS): A watch used by German Nazi ruler Adolf Hitler has been sold for $1.1 million.
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, the watch with the Nazi symbol (Swastika) was bought by an unknown person for 1.1 million dollars in an auction held in the “Alexander Historical Auctions” in the US state of Maryland.
According to German media, the auction price of Hitler’s watch was estimated at 2 million to 4 million dollars, but the watch was sold for only 1.1 million dollars.
The watch is believed to have been given to Adolf Hitler as a birthday present after he became Chancellor of Germany in 1933.
Information about the watch at the auction house states that when 30 French soldiers stormed Hitler’s residence in 1945, they took the watch with them as a sign of what would later be believed to be the watch. It has been auctioned several times and has been passed down through generations.
