Web Desk (LTN NEWS): At a large rally in Multan for the NA 157 by-election, Imran said that the PTI won 20 seats in Punjab in July despite “Mr. X, the Election Commission, and then the Punjab government” doing their worst to rig the vote.
Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, said on Thursday that imported rulers were running away because they knew they would lose the by-elections badly.
PTI chairman Imran Khan told the rally that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its allies in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) were trying to avoid the by-elections later this month because they were afraid of losing.
“Now, more wickets were going to fall on Sunday and on September 25. Even though they were cheating, I had to give them a 9-0 score,” head of the PTI Imran Khan said.
“Since they were afraid of losing, they took the wickets and ran away. Now, they’re trying to get Imran Khan kicked out of the match.”
Imran Khan said that he would keep fighting until Pakistan was “made a truly independent country.” He also said that he was willing to talk to anyone, except for “corrupt rulers brought in by a foreign plot.”
“We have to free our country from these thieves who stole the country’s money and stashed it abroad. We are controlled by these bandits who make decisions based on the orders of their foreign masters,” he said.
He said that “the country was making progress while the PTI was in power, but that the government was overthrown by a foreign plot. But there’s no need to worry. I am determined to bring back the green passport’s good name.”
He said that Pakistan’s imported government had gotten the country stuck in a swamp of debt. There was a storm of inflation, unemployment was going up, businesses were closing, and exports were going down.
“We will not beg. Instead of asking other countries for help, I will ask the 10 million Pakistanis who live abroad—who are our assets—to invest in their home country. When justice is done, Pakistanis living abroad will invest in their home country,” he said.
Imran Khan said that when he was in charge, he was told to include the opposition. Now that he is no longer in charge, he is told to go sit in the assembly. But he couldn’t sit with Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, he said.
Imran told Mehr Bano Qureshi, who was running for the PTI in the by-election, “I have held rallies all over the country, but the number of women at the NA 157 rally is impressive.”
He asked the people to vote for Qureshi.
Earlier, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Mehr Bano Qureshi, Faisal Javed, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Akhtar Malik, and others spoke at the public meeting.
