Imran Khan’s desire for power can put democracy at risk: Bilawal

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari criticized the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for his desire for power, and the leader of the PPP said that Imran Khan is so eager to become prime minister that he is willing to sacrifice democracy to do it.

In an exclusive interview, he said, “Khan Sahib wants any umpire to raise his finger, whether forcibly or not.” Imran’s plan about the umpire’s finger, on the other hand, is doomed to fail.”

He said that the PTI keeps making U-turns. “At first, the PTI offered their resignations, saying that they were ready for the elections. But when some of them were allowed to leave, Khan Sahib said that his party would run candidates for each seat,” Bilawal said.

Bilawal made fun of the head of the PTI by saying that Imran Khan skipped the Lyari elections, where he was running against Jiyala Nabil Gabol of the PPP. He said that Imran Khan ran away from a fight with Nabil Gabol.

The head of the PPP said that at first, Imran Khan asked that the PTI’s resignations be accepted. But when the government began taking resignations, Imran Khan went to court, he said. Bilawal said that it was time for the courts to decide how long Imran Khan will be their favorite.

He said that the court will have to follow the law and the constitution. He said that it wouldn’t be right for the court to rule in a way that would help Imran Khan and keep him from losing an election.

“How long will the law last if Imran’s wishes are followed?” he asked.

He said that the establishment can’t do what the Ladla [Imran] tells it to do.

The head of the PPP told Imran Khan that if he is ready for the elections, he should trust the people.

But he said, “We are busy helping people who were hurt by the floods, not running for office.”

Bilawal said that Imran can’t run in by-elections for 13 seats. At the same time, he said, he can’t call for general elections. “How could he ask for the elections to be held?” He said that Imran Khan wants to destroy even democracy if he isn’t the prime minister.

He said, “Imran Khan’s plan is that he won’t let anyone else play if he isn’t there.”

The leader of the PPP said to Imran, “You can protest and start a long march. But right now, a third of the country is underwater.

He was upset that Imran Khan cared more about politics than the floods in the country. He stressed that pushing for pre-elections would be like abandoning people, and he hoped that no institutions would fall for his trick. The head of the PPP said that the flood victims are pleading for help, but Imran Khan is too busy with politics to listen.

“Imran Khan’s big claims and long marches were all a waste of time. He had tried before, but it didn’t work out. He will fail again, no matter what he does,” he said.

He said that in November, a decision will be made about who will be the next army chief based on the law and the constitution. He pointed out that there won’t be a big storm or a terrible monsoon in November.

Instead, the month will be like any other month on the calendar. He said that Imran wants to use November for his political goals. He said that Imran wants to mess things up, but he won’t be able to.

Bilawal said that US diplomat Donald Lu was also at the meeting when he met Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his recent trip to Washington. But Cypher or the threat letter were not talked about, as he said, because the talks with Blinken were about the damage caused by the flood.
