Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Thursday, an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad gave Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, temporary bail in a case against him for making controversial comments about a female judge at a rally in the capital last week.

With a surety of Rs100,000, Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan gave bail until September 1.

Imran’s bail request was sent to the court before he arrived today. The petitioner said that the terrorism case against the head of the PTI was filed as an “act of revenge” by the police.

Chairman Imran Khan left for the anti-terrorism courtroom.

Policewomen are stationed outside the Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad before PTI leader Imran Khan shows up on Thursday to go before an anti-terrorism court.

At the same time, strict security measures were put in place around the Judicial Commission. Roads were closed on all sides of the compound to keep people from getting in or out. People who were not supposed to be there were not allowed in, and the media was also not allowed in.

Officials in charge of security say that 400 police and FC officers were sent in. The police say they have been told not to let anyone into the court complex unless they have official orders to do so.

The head of the PTI said that Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry knew Gill was tortured, but she didn’t let him out on bail anyway. He said that he would go to court against the judge and the head of the police force in Islamabad.

The FIR included several sentences from Imran’s speech. It said that Imran Khan’s speech in this form and style was meant to make the police, the courts, and the public afraid and panicked.

After giving Imran bail until August 25, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) made a larger bench on Monday to start contempt of court proceedings against him. The court also told him to put up Rs5,000 in surety bonds and go to the anti-terrorism court by August 25.

“Imran will be arrested if bail is turned down”

Rana Sanaullah, the minister of the interior, said that the government would arrest Imran if the court didn’t agree to let him out on bail. He told a private news channel on Wednesday night that if his bail was approved, the government would file a challan against him for making threats against a female judge.

He said that it was illegal to threaten a judge or a high-ranking police officer. He also said that the PTI leader was named in several cases, but only three were important. The interior minister said that the government’s top goal was to keep the peace in the country.

So far, however, the government has sent mixed messages about whether or not it wants to arrest the head of the PTI. It seemed to be keeping a “smoke and mirrors” line about whether or not it wanted the former prime minister in jail.

Even though they said they wouldn’t “design” to get involved in political vendettas, the leading lights of the coalition parties seemed to agree that they would support anything that followed the “due legal course.”

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said earlier this week that the coalition government doesn’t waste time in meetings by talking about whether or not PTI leader Imran Khan should be arrested for threatening a sitting judge and the top cop of the capital.

The government’s spokesman said that the PML-N-led government was not the same as the PTI-led government. He said that the current government would not use the same tactics as the PTI-led government, especially arresting its opponents.
