Web Desk (LTN NEWS): A district and sessions court in Islamabad told capital police on Friday to give the court the record in the sedition case against PTI leader Shahbaz Gill by tomorrow (Saturday).

Gill was arrested on Thursday on charges of sedition and inciting mutiny in the army. On Thursday, he went to the sessions court in Islamabad to ask for bail until the case is over.

Gill was arrested on August 9 after he allegedly made controversial comments about the army. Since then, he has been detained, and some people say he has been tortured and sexually abused while in custody.

Faisal Chaudhry and Sardar Masroof Khan, two of Gill’s lawyers, were in court today for the hearing.

As his request for bail was being heard by the sessions court, the judge, Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, asked about the investigation officer and if he or she had gotten the notice to appear in court.

A sub-inspector from the police team in Islamabad told the court that the officer was in Karachi and would soon go to Islamabad. “It would take a while to get there,” he said. The judge said that the officer needs to show up in a few hours.

“The person in charge of the investigation is in Karachi, and he can’t get here any faster,” the sub-inspector said.

The judge said that if the record was not shown, a senior superintendent of police and the inspector general of Islamabad would be called in.

Gill’s lawyers said they were ready to give the investigation officer a plane ticket.

The official asked the court for two days and said that the record would be ready by Monday.

The judge told him to bring the case record to court on Saturday and also asked for the investigation officer to be there.
In the meantime, Gill’s brother filed a complaint against Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Zeba Chaudhry on Thursday for keeping Gill in police custody.

Yaseen Gill told the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and a member of the court’s inspection team about the problem.
