Meals programs for flood-victims

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): PepsiCo Pakistan announced the Millions of Meals program, which will give five million meals of emergency food aid to people in the worst-affected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab who have been hit hard by the flooding.

The Millions of Meals program is part of the global food security platform Food for Good, which aims to make it easier for communities to get meals.

UNICEF helps

Monday, UNICEF sent 32 metric tons of medical supplies and other emergency supplies that could save the lives of children and women who were affected by floods.

A statement says that the shipment includes medicines, medical supplies, water purification tablets, safe delivery kits, and therapeutic nutritional supplements.

UN group gave the supplies to the Sindh Ministry of Health and Population Welfare, which was representing the Pakistani government.

On Tuesday, the second shipment of 34 metric tons of humanitarian supplies, including medicines to treat parasitic infections, resuscitation, and sterilization kits, micronutrients for pregnant women, educational supplies, and play kits to help kids deal with the trauma, is expected to arrive.

Germany helping with food

German Federal Foreign Office has said that, through the Consulate-General in Karachi, it will send food to 1,000 families in Balochistan who are having a hard time for the next two months.

A German government announcement said, “We are also giving food and medicine to another 60,000 people through the German Red Cross.”
