Rs19.8b distributed among flood victims through BISP

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): A press release from Monday said that BISP Flood Relief Emergency Cash Assistance Programme had given money to as many as 793,701 families who had been affected by the flooding.

In Balochistan, Rs2.25 billion was given to 90,396 families. Rs11.6 billion was given to 466,045 families in Sindh, Rs2.4 billion to 98,677 families in KP, and Rs3.4 billion to 138,583 families in Punjab.

Benazir Income Support Programme says that the social safety net is giving Rs25,000 to each family in flood-affected areas of the country. So far, the program has given out more than Rs19.8 billion.

All payment centers have stayed open on holidays so that money can be given to families who need it.

The people in charge of the Benazir Income Support Programme have told the people who work at the camps to help the affected people in their own areas.

Families who were affected by the flood were told to text their CNIC numbers to 8171 to sign up for the BISP Flood Relief Cash Assistance Program. When they got the payment message, they were told to go to their nearby campsite to get the cash.

At the headquarters of the Benazir Income Support Programme, a control room has also been set up to make sure that families who lost money in the floods get their money as quickly as possible.
