Web Desk (LTN NEWS): The duo becomes the first T20I batting pair to score 1,800 runs as batting partners.
Pakistan’s batting duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have surpassed India’s Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to become the most successful batting partners in T20Is.
The Indian pair had scored 1,743 runs in 52 innings as batting partners, while Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan surpassed them in the 36th inning as batting partners when they took Pakistan’s score to 18 runs in the third over in the second T20I against England.
They have also become the first-ever batting pair in T20Is to amass 1,800 runs as batting partners.

The Pakistani openers have seven partnerships of more than 100 runs, the most by any batting partners in the world’s shortest format of the game.
Next in line are KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma of India, who have a five-century partnership to their name.
Babar and Rizwan are frequently chastised as Pakistan’s top-order pair. However, the number refutes what is commonly held against them. Their average partnership is more than 53 runs per inning.
Since the start of 2021, they have scored 1,500+ runs out of their 1,800 partnership runs. In this bracket, no other batting partner has even scored 800 runs in partnership.
