Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Last night, doctors did an Electrocardiogram (ECG) on PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, who was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) because he was having trouble “breathing.” According to hospital sources, the ECG did not show that everything was okay.
Shahbaz Gill, who was the Chief of Staff for former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, was taken to the PIMS hospital at the end of a long custody battle on Wednesday night.
Sources with knowledge of the situation said that the ECG showed that his heartbeat was faster than usual. When asked about Gill’s illness, the sources said that anxiety can make it hard to breathe and change a person’s heartbeat.
Shahbaz Gill, on the other hand, did not have heart or chest pain, and his health, in general, was good. The doctors may do an ECG on the leader of the PTI today, sources said, and Gill will get a medical checkup at the hospital today by the doctors’ board.
Gill has been in police custody since August 9, when the Islamabad police arrested him on charges of sedition after he said some controversial things on a private news channel.
The police spokesperson in Islamabad said that he was arrested on charges of sedition and encouraging members of state institutions to work against the Pakistan Army.
Shahbaz Gill needs to be “monitored and evaluated” by experts
A report made by the medical board in charge of Gill’s care at the hospital says that cardiologists and pulmonologists need to keep an eye on and check up on the PTI leader all the time.
In the report that was given to the court, board members Prof Lal Rehman, Dr. Ali Miraj Shami, Prof SH Waqar, and Prof Shajedi A Siddiqui said that Gill “may need further investigations if needed.”
In its report, the medical board also said that Gill “has had asthma since childhood and has taken inhaled bronchodilators when needed. She now has shortness of breath, and body aches, including pain in her left shoulder, back, neck, right gluteal region, and left-sided chest pain.”
The board also said that Gill should take 10 tests.
‘SC urged to take suo moto notice’
PTI Punjab leader Ejaz Chaudhry spoke to the media at the hospital late at night. He asked, “Who will be responsible if something happens to Shahbaz Gill?”
Chaudhry also questioned why Gill’s hospital room had people who didn’t belong there. “There are police officers in uniform in the room. There are also some people who shouldn’t have been there, “Chaudhry said.
“I want the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) to look into what’s going on at the hospital on his own.”
Chaudhry also asked, “Why are there so many police in Gill’s room if a group of doctors has decided to keep an eye on him?”
He told them, “They should stay outside the room.”
Gill’s life is in danger, says the home minister of Punjab
Hashim Dogar, the Home Minister of Punjab, said that Gill “faces a serious threat to his life.” He asked the higher courts to help “for the sake of human rights.”
“Shahbaz Gill was tortured physically in front of the Islamabad police. But over the last three days, he has been getting better “Dogar said.
“He [Gill] has been very sad for a long time. His health got worse when he found out he was going back into police custody “he said.
Referring to the fight on August 17 between the police forces of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the Punjab minister criticized the Islamabad police, saying that they moved Gill to Islamabad while the Rangers watched over him. Shahbaz Gill said that the Punjab police tried to take him to a hospital nearby.
