Web Desk(LTN News): The approval of a resolution by the UN General Assembly supporting Pakistan’s restoration efforts in the flood-affected areas was welcomed, according to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who made the statement on Saturday.

The prime minister emphasized on his Twitter account that the world should strongly respond to the UN’s updated aid appeal and grant Pakistan access to climate money and debt relief.

At this point, he continued, these activities were crucial.

“Solidarity with and support for the Government and People of Pakistan, and strengthening of emergency relief, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and prevention in the wake of the recent disastrous floods” is the resolution that the UNGA unanimously endorsed.

To show support for the millions of Pakistanis devastated by the recent catastrophic floods, the resolution was submitted by Pakistan and cosponsored by 151 nations, or more than two-thirds of the UN membership.
