Pakistan is still fighting hard against deadly floods caused by the heaviest monsoon rains in a decade. The floods have killed almost 1,200 people and flooded one-third of the country.

In a statement, Google said, “During this time of the disaster, Google.org will donate US$500,000K (110 Million PKR) through its charitable arm to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. This money will be used to give sub-grants to local organizations that are actively helping with crisis response and recovery.”

Google employees are also giving money during this very important time. Google says it will keep looking for more ways to help people in the country who have been affected by floods.

The tech giant said that in just a few days, employees have already donated more than Rs72 million on their own and the company has matched those donations.

The statement said that Google wants to show its support by taking the initiative to get donations and money for people who have been affected by the floods. This will help people who are living in the middle of destruction.

It said that millions of Pakistanis are going through the worst torrential rains and floods in the country’s history. It also said that the disastrous floods and the ongoing pandemic are causing a lot of trouble in the country.
