Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Imran Khan, former prime minister and head of the PTI, said on Tuesday that he was done with the “cabal of crooks” in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spreading lies about him.
Khan’s recent comments about the military and its top leaders were harshly criticized by PDM, the ruling parties that make up the government.
In his Faisalabad jalsa speech, the PTI chairman said that if a “patriotic” army chief were chosen, he would not spare the current rulers. This made the armed forces very angry.

Khan responded by tweeting:
“Am following intense propaganda launched by PDM cabal of crooks against me. This stems from their being petrified of PTI’s soaring popularity. Today in Peshawar jalsa I will give a proper reply to all those who have deliberately been distorting my words to malign me. Enough is enough.”
In a statement released on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Pakistani Army was “aghast” at the recent comments made by Imran Khan against the military.
The military’s media arm said that it was sad that there was an attempt to discredit and undermine the senior leadership of the army at a time when the institution was risking lives every day to make sure that people were safe and secure.
The army said that it is “most unfortunate and disappointing” that senior politicians are trying to stir up trouble over how the COAS is chosen, even though the Constitution spells out the process clearly.
ISPR said that the army’s top leaders have decades of “impeccable and meritorious service” that proves “beyond any doubt” that they are both patriotic and good at their jobs.
