The UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador said, “I’ve never seen anything like this before” when she went to the National Flood Response Coordination Center (NFRCC) on Wednesday.
Ahsan Iqbal, who is the vice chairman of the NFRCC, met the visitor and thanked her for coming to the country. The human rights activist was told what had been done so far to help with the flood.

She also said that she is with the flood victims and will do everything she can to let the world know how much damage climate change has caused and how much help the flood victims need to save their lives.
A press release from the International Rescue Committee says that Angelina Jolie arrived in Dadu early in the day. There, she met with flood victims, especially women. She went to the flood-damaged areas to learn more about what was going on.
During her talk at the NFRCC, the actress praised Pakistan for “the generosity that the people of Pakistan have shown to the people of Afghanistan over the years” as a host country.
She said that she agrees with Pakistan that “the international community needs to do more” to help with the flood relief. She said that the level of damage from floods is very different, calling it a “wake-up call” to the world.
Angelina Jolie also brought attention to climate change by saying that the threat is “not only real, but it’s also not only coming, it’s very much here.”
As a humanitarian worker, the actress said that she thinks Pakistan is in a very bad place where “needs are so great and really, every effort is either life or death for so many people.”
She also praised the Pakistan Army’s efforts to help people after a disaster. She said that the flood victims need more help because there are so many people who need to be rescued and so many hungry children who need care.
The actress said that more needs to be done for the people who were hurt by the floods because winter is coming soon.
“I came to Pakistan as a friend. I can’t even try to picture what it must be like to be there. My heart goes out to everyone right now, “she told.
