Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Ambassador of the European Union (EU) Dr. Riina Kionka met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday at General Headquarters (GHQ). She was saddened by the damage caused by Pakistan’s catastrophic floods and offered her condolences to the victims’ families.
A news release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that things of mutual interest, the security situation in the region, and bilateral cooperation with the European Union (EU) were talked about during the meeting.
COAS said that Pakistan valued its relationships with EU countries and that “we sincerely look forward to enhancing mutually beneficial multi-domain relations based on common interests.”
COAS told the ambassador how happy he was that she had started her new job.

Both of the dignitaries wanted to strengthen their relationships with each other because they had similar goals.
The visiting dignitary told the people of Pakistan that they had or her full support.
She also thanked the Pakistani Army for helping the government with rescue and relief efforts in flood-hit areas and promised to do what she could to improve relations between Pakistan and the EU.
COAS thanked the EU for its help and said again that rescue and recovery of the victims would be impossible without help from global partners.
