Web Desk (LTN News): Miftah Ismail, the federal minister for finance and revenue, stated on Wednesday that Pakistan has been working to maintain an ideal level of foreign exchange reserves despite flood damage in order to guarantee exchange-rate stability and rein in inflation.

The minister stated that the current floods have resulted in significant life losses and financial devastation at a meeting with a delegation of Coca-Cola Icecek Pakistan, led by its General Manager, Ahmet Kursad Ertin.

He said that, in accordance with a press release from the finance ministry, the administration was reducing superfluous imports.

He gave the delegation’s members the reassurance that their pending issues will be resolved as soon as possible while taking into account the allowed import budget. He also praised the company’s expansion and contribution to Pakistan’s economy through tax income.

Earlier, the delegation members extended warm sentiments to the minister on successfully securing the IMF deal and appreciated the business-friendly policies of the government.

They briefed the minister about the operational nature of Coca-Cola Icecek Pakistan and shared their significant contribution to the overall GDP of the country.

Additionally, it was disclosed that Coca-Cola Icecek Pakistan intended to expand its business through additional investments as a result of the Pakistani market’s larger potential. They also discussed with the minister the difficulties with specific imports.

A delegation from the All Pakistan Akhbar Farosh Federation (APAFF) briefed the finance minister about their concerns during a meeting, particularly those linked to the plan to reduce the availability of newspapers in government agencies. Tikka Khan, the Central Secretary General, served as the delegation’s leader.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to assisting the media sector and all affiliated businesses and individuals, saying that the government supported social uplift for the general public and worked to address their problems on all fronts in order to assist them.

The statement claims that the minister gave the necessary authorities instructions to address the APAFF issues.
