Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former PM thanked PM Shehbaz Sharif for deliberately leaking the PM House audio, saying that it proved that the cipher was a reality.
Imran told a crowd at a rally in Muzaffarabad, Azam Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) that his government had stopped trading with India after New Delhi did something illegal on August 5, 2019, but that Maryam Nawaz’s son-in-law had bought machinery from India.
“Shehbaz Sharif himself let out the truth about the cipher by letting the tapes from the Prime Minister’s House get out. I thank him for that,” Imran said, referring to the audio leak on Wednesday, which was supposed of his conversation with his then-principal secretary.
The audio leak has put Imran’s story about a foreign plot to overthrow his government back in the spotlight, especially the diplomatic cable, or cipher, that he used at a public rally in March as proof of a US-backed plot to overthrow his government.
Imran told the rally, “The audio leak shows that the code was real. It said that if the vote of no confidence against me failed, there would be repercussions,” the PTI chairman added.
Imran said that there were also traitors in the AJK assembly and asked the people not to let them come forward “because it’s an insult to your vote. He promised the people of Kashmir that as long as he was alive, he would not let their sacrifices go to waste.
He said that when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took away the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), “My government ended trade relations with India, and we decided that we will not restore the ties until they restore IIOJK’s status.”
The PTI chairman, on the other hand, said that Maryam Nawaz’s son-in-law brought machinery from India. “Maryam’s son-in-law is building a housing community, and taxpayer money will be used to put in a grid station,” he said.
Imran said this about the new finance minister, Ishaq Dar: “Yesterday, a man came back. He [Dar] had gotten away in the plane of the prime minister and come back after making a deal. When Dar was the minister, the country went bankrupt.”
Earlier, AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that Imran Khan’s plan for accountability and help for the average person was being put into action. He also said that Imran Khan was the leader who spoke out against the “status quo.”
PM Shehbaz was glad that Imran stood up for Kashmir. “You talked about Kashmir for 24 minutes at the United Nations and gave a full picture of the Kashmiris case,” he said.
On the other hand, he said, “the current PM [Shehbaz Sharif], who calls himself a Kashmiri, didn’t even mention the name of Kashmiris at the United Nations.”
He also said that Imran Khan has proven himself to be the ambassador of the Kashmiris.
