Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Sunday, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police criticized Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for making “threats and accusations” against the department.

Yesterday (Saturday), when he spoke at a public rally in F-9 Park, the former prime minister said that people were trying to “scare everyone away by torturing Shahbaz Gill.”

Imran also said that when the PTI asked the Islamabad police and the people in charge of the Adiala jail who was torturing Gill, they just said that they were following orders from the “top.”

“We will not let the inspector general (IG) and deputy inspector general (DIG) of Islamabad off the hook,” he had said.

In response to the accusations, the capital police said today that they will “continue to do their jobs with care” and that anyone making threats or accusations will be punished by the law.

The police said they were still committed to serving the country and that they had “taken an oath to serve the country at all times.” They also said that “all officers and staff are serving with full responsibility and will continue to do so.”

“ICT police as an institution will take legal action against all false accusations,” the statement said.

It’s important to remember that on Saturday, the coalition parties of the current government asked the highest court to act right away on the threat the ex-PM made against a female judge during his speech at the rally.

During the rally, Imran said that Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry knew Gill was tortured, but she did not let him out on bail. He had said that he would do something against the judge and the police in Islamabad.
