Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Shah Mehmood Qureshi has decided to let his daughter run for the seat his son used to hold. Shah Mehmood Qureshi nominated his daughter Mehr Bano Qureshi to run for the National Assembly seat NA-157 in Multan. He asked Imran Khan for permission to submit his daughter’s nomination papers.
PTI vice chairman announced on Thursday that his daughter Meherbano Qureshi would run in the NA-157 by-elections as a PTI nominee. Meherbano’s father is Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan has given his daughter the go-ahead to run in the NA-157 by-elections, he announced at a press conference.
He asserted that elections were no longer decided by the alliances or personalities of the candidates, but rather by a struggle of ideas.
He predicted that PTI would sweep the NA-157 by-elections, just as it did in the recent PP-217 by-elections won by Zain Qureshi, which left the NA-157 seat open.
Qureshi argued for a more prominent place for women in politics, noting that his daughter is a well-educated mother who can contribute to the country’s progress.
