Web Desk (LTN NEWS): A private TV station said on Thursday that at least six Pakistanis were found guilty of disrespecting the Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) in Madina during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s trip to Saudi Arabia.

The channel said that its diplomatic sources told it that a court in Madina gave Anas, Irshad, and Muhammad Saleem each a 10-year jail sentence and Khawaja Luqman, Muhammad Afzal, and Ghulam Muhammad each an 8-year jail sentence. They were also each fined 20,000 Saudi Riyals.

In April of this year, a group of protesters claiming to be from the PTI broke the rules of the Masjid-e-Nabawi by shouting slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and members of his delegation as they went into the mosque to pay their respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).

When PM Shehbaz and his team got to the mosque, the protesters started chanting “chor, chor” (thieves) when they saw the premiere. They also harassed Marriyum Aurangzeb and said offensive things about her.

The protesters also chanted against Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and mistreated Shahzain Bugti, the head of the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) and Federal Minister for Narcotics Control. The protesters used their cell phones to record the whole thing.

Political and religious leaders, as well as people from different parts of society, were outraged by what happened and strongly condemned the people who chanted political slogans at Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH).
