PAF proud of its sacrifices: Sep 7 memorize as “Martyrs Day”

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Wednesday, September 7, is Martyrs’ Day for the Pakistan Air Force. This was done at all PAF bases across the country.

PAF news release said that the day began with special prayers and recitations of the Quran for the Shuhada (martyrs) of the 1965 and 1971 Wars and those who have died in action since Pakistan was founded.

At a Martyrs’ Day ceremony at Air Headquarters in Islamabad, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu was the Chief Guest.

Air Chief spoke at the event and said that the PAF is proud of its history of sacrifice, bravery, and professionalism.

A wreath-laying ceremony was also held earlier in the day at the grave of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, (Nishan-i-Haider), in Karachi. Air vice Marshal Zaeem Afzal, who is in charge of the Southern Air Command, said “Fateha” prayer and put a wreath of flowers on the grave of the Shaheed on behalf of the Pakistan Air Force’s Chief of the Air Staff.
