Web Desk(LTN News): Rana Sanaullah, the interior minister, failed to appear in court on Saturday, leading a Rawalpindi judge to issue a non-bailable arrest order for him.

The senior civil judge, Ghulam Akbar, presided over the court that issued the warrant. Rana Sanaullah has been named in an initial information report (FIR), and according to the judge’s ruling, his arrest “is necessary in the case, thus non-bailable arrest warrants of the accused may be issued.” Sanaullah’s persistent failure to appear in front of the team looking into the corruption case, according to a spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab, prompted the issuance of the arrest warrant.

Just a day prior, the minister had officially stated that Saifullah Nyazee, a senator for PTI, had been placed in “protective custody” by the FIA as part of the PTI’s investigation involving unauthorized funding.

On Friday, “unknown guys” snatched up Senator Saifullah Khan Nyazee from outside the Islamabad Senate building.

The FIA first dismissed the report, but Rana Sanaullah said that it was related to PTI’s issue of unlawful funding.
