Web Desk (LTN NEWS): In the Toshakhana case, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will look into a complaint against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan today. The complaint says that Khan should be kicked out of office (Thursday).

The case brought up by PML-N MNA Barrister Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha earlier this month will be heard by a five-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja.

The reference asks the electoral watchdog to disqualify Imran under Sections 2 and 3 of Article 63 of the Constitution, along with Article 62(1) (f). This is the same provision that was used to disqualify former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 2017.

It says, “A person is not eligible to be elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) unless […] he is wise, righteous and non-profligate, honest and Ameen, and a court has not ruled otherwise.”

The ECP will also listen to the application about the PML-Q elections within the party. Both Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Parvez Elahi will have their lawyers make their cases.
