Islamabad (LTN NEWS): The objections to the PTI’s petition challenging the phased acceptance of its MNAs were taken away by the registrar’s office of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday. This happened after the former ruling party gave the court a letter of authority along with the petition.
The PTI also included in the case the 123 lawmakers who had resigned.
Earlier, Asad Umar, a leader of the PTI, had filed a complaint with the IHC against National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf about how slowly the resignations of PTI lawmakers were being accepted.
After the objections were taken care of, the plea was given a number so that it could be scheduled to be heard.
Thursday, the case will be heard by Acting IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq (today).
Faisal Chaudhry, the brother of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, is making the case for the PTI.
The petition asked the court to tell the Election Commission of Pakistan to stop sending out notices to the 123 lawmakers of the former ruling party who had resigned.
