Ishaq Dar took his oath as a federal minister

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Senator Ishaq Dar, a top leader of the PML-N, took his oath as a federal minister, a day after he was sworn in as a senator.

Ishaq Dar took the oath of office at a ceremony at the President House that was also attended by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, senior PML-N leaders, and members of the cabinet. The ceremony was led by President Ari Alvi.

Miftah Ismail has quit his job as minister of finance, so Dar will take over the job. Dar will be in charge of the ministry for the fourth time.

The leaders of the party have given Dar the job of getting the country out of the crisis.

Dar to be hopeful

As soon as he got to Islamabad, the PML-N leader said that he would do his best to help Pakistan get out of its economic mess.

“In 1998 and 2013, we helped Pakistan get out of a financial mess,” he said.

During a question-and-answer session in the Senate, Dar blamed the hundi and hawala businesses for the low value of the rupee. He also said that these businesses can’t hold the local currency hostage.

Dar said that the US dollar has lost about Rs10 in value against the rupee since he arrived in the country. He said that one of the problems the country is having is that the rupee is losing value artificially.

“Also, inflation is high,” he added to the list of problems that the coalition government needs to fix.
