Orange line to switch on solar power: Pervaiz Elahi

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Punjab On Friday, Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that senior citizens and people with special needs will be able to ride the Orange Line Metro Train for free.

Students and women will also be able to travel for less money. The price will be set at each stage.

In a meeting, Elahi talked about the Punjab government’s new plan. He said, “The Orange Line train stations will have solar systems, and a committee has been set up to look into converting the Orange Line Metro train to solar energy.”

“Lahore will be the site of the first electric bus project. Modern buses that are good for the environment will give people the best way to get around “he added.

The advisory committee was also given the job of figuring out how to outsource the contract for the Lahore Waste Management Company.

On May 11, Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said that 49 buses for the Orange Line Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Service had arrived at the Karachi port.

“Congrats, Karachi. The entire fleet of buses for the Orange Line BRT (Abdul Sattar Edhi Line) and the first 49 buses for the Intra district people’s bus service have arrived at Karachi port “Memon sent out a tweet.

He said that the rest of the buses are on their way and will get there in stages over the next month.
