Web Desk (LTN NEWS): On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visit Gilgit for a one-day visit to check on the rescue and relief efforts in the flood-affected areas.
Advisor to PM on Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira met the prime minister when he got there.
Later, the prime minister took a plane to Ghizar district, where he visit the Bobar village and talk to people who had been hurt by the flood.
During the visit, the relevant authorities also tell the prime minister about the floods, the damage they caused, and the ongoing relief and recovery efforts.
In Gilgit, the relevant authorities tell the prime minister about the heavy rains, flash floods, and damage caused by them.

During the briefing, the prime minister was told that 17 people had died in the village because of the floods and that 249 homes had been damaged. During the disaster, 794 animals and a number of orchards were also washed away.
Prime Minister told the victims that the government will do everything it could to help them and get back on their feet.
During the trip, the Prime Minister also held a ceremony at Gilgit airport where he gave cheques to people in Shisper Glacier of Hunza who had been hurt by floods.

He gave checks for Rs0.8 million to each of the nine people whose homes were completely destroyed by the floods. He also gave checks for Rs0.5 million to each of the six people whose homes were damaged but not completely destroyed.
