PTI to set up inquiry in SC against PDM govt

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Saturday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asked the Supreme Court (SC) to set up an inquiry commission to look into audio leaks about the government’s plan to accept the resignations of PTI lawmakers.

The party, through Chaudhry Faisal Hussain, applied in the case that the highest court is hearing against the IHC’s decision that deputy speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri did not follow the constitution when he accepted the resignations of PTI lawmakers.

The application asked for an inquiry commission to be set up to ask questions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other members of the federal cabinet, like Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarrar, Defense Minister Khwaja Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ayaz Sadiq, and everyone else, like National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf and Secretary National Assembly.

“Those criminal proceedings be brought against the above-named people, among other things, for forming a criminal plot, breaking their oath, and trying to change the Constitution of Pakistan 1973.”

The application also said that recently released audio leaks on social media revealed information about the case. The premier and his cabinet members, Rana Sanaullah, Khwaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Ayaz Sadiq, and Azam Nazeer Tarrar, can be heard discussing a heinous strategy to remove the petitioner from parliamentary politics in the most illegal, unlawful, and objectionable way.

“The whole discussion is about a criminal strategy/conspiracy to hurt and target the petitioner by accepting (illegally and against the law) the resignations of petitioner party members of the National Assembly on April 11, 2022, one by one. The transcript and audio recording are attached, and you may very kindly read them as if they were part of this sentence.”

It’s important to note that carried out the above plot with the help of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, and the Secretary of the National Assembly. The case in this August court has already ended.

In a press conference on September 27, 2022, in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that the audio leaks were real and did happen. It is also important to note that Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah have already said that the audio leaks are true.

The petition also said, “After the incumbent office holders’ admission, the revelations that came out through the audio leaks are to be treated as new facts that came out during the proceedings before this august court, so a request to take judicial notice of the shocking revelation was deemed most appropriate.”

In its petition, PTI also said that PM Shehbaz, his cabinet members, and the NA speaker had broken their oath in complete disregard of the law and the Constitution and with ill will.

It also said that they “hatched and carried out a criminal plot against 123 elected members of the petitioner party with the aim of systematically removing members of the petitioner party in violation of article 64 and the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business 2007 and are therefore liable to be proceeded against and tried accordingly.”

“It is said that the current federal government and the Speaker of the National Assembly have an unbreakable duty to stick to the law and the constitution. It is clear that the Prime Minister, the Federal Ministers, and the Speaker of the National Assembly have broken the law, the constitution, and their oaths in a big way “the plea went on.

On Sunday, found a leaked audio clip that supposedly showed the prime minister and federal cabinet members talking about the resignations of PTI lawmakers and asking party leader Nawaz Sharif, who lives in London, for the final say on the resignations.
