Web Desk (LTN NEWS): PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has petitioned Islamabad High Court (IHC) for bail in the sedition case that was brought against him for allegedly trying to cause disturbance inside the military. The case was brought against Gill because he allegedly attempted to cause disruptions within the military.
This past week, a court in the nation’s capital denied his request to be released on bail. According to the judge, even though Gill is a responsible person, he nevertheless managed to say something shocking that was disruptive to the order and harmony within the Pakistan Army.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal stated, in a judgment that was eight pages long, that Gill is the leader of a popular national party named PTI and that he had not made the comment in a meeting.
According to the order, “His speech was surprising, and that was enough to break harmony and discipline in the Pakistan Army, which is Pakistan’s most respected institution.”
The PTI leader listed City Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza, the SHO of Police Station Kohsar, and a few other people as parties in the bail petition that he submitted today.

He said that on August 17, a medical board from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences discovered marks on his body that suggested he had been subjected to torture. He alleged that the marks were evidence that he had been beaten.
The appeal will be heard by the court on September 5.
After making some contentious statements on a private television channel, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was brought into jail on August 9 at Banigala Chowk in the city of Islamabad.
Following his arrest, Gill was brought before a judge, who decided to keep him in physical custody for a period of two days. However, the leaders of the PTI have claimed that he was tortured while in the custody of the police, a claim that the government has categorically denied.
During one of the demonstrations against Gill’s arrest, Imran Khan issued threats to high-ranking police personnel and a judge. As a consequence of this, a case of terrorism was brought against the chairman of the PTI.
Gill is currently doing time in jail as a result of a judge’s order to do so.
