Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif says that country is working hard to get back to normal after the devastating floods caused by rain that was 500% above average. These floods flooded one-third of Pakistan and killed more than 1,200 people.
PM Shahbaz wrote on Twitter, “A huge national effort is underway to get essential services back up and running in flood-affected areas.”
He said that the National Highway Authority, Power DISCOs, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and other federal departments had done amazing work against all odds and had mostly fixed the damaged infrastructure.
In another tweet, the Prime Minister said that the power systems in Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were badly damaged by floods.
He said that getting electricity to the affected areas was very hard.
He thanked Secretary of the Power Division Rashid Langrial and his team for working so hard to get the power back on.
